Just after a few days in Kota Kinabalu, the urge to get some more cash hit me again. Considering the long wait before March next year, 3 months of being jobless is actually not a good option when you are living in the city especially.
By end of this month, the calculation over how much money left for me had me worried. There are going to be Christmas soon, New Year is just few nights away. By the time it’s over, I’d be left with hardly any money to spare for January. Scary huh.
These are the times when I am very thankful for taking the path of a dive professional. Being in this industry for years, I have built a network of friends around. Network of dive operators. Why is it a great thing? Well, there are always going to be a demand for a part-time job for me and other dive professionals around the city. The earnings will not be big but with the constant demand, the per day salary, things are looking good finally.
With pays ranging from RM100 to Rm200 per day, it is good enough if I get at least a week of working and a week of chilling out so I can write more on this blog right.
The downside however I seldom get a chance to choose as these dive operators are always looking for a part-time professionals who are willing to work on demand. Therefore, I need to build up a reputation so they will always look for me first every time they are in need for an additional help. This way, I seldom miss any opportunity to get an extra cash for the week.
It is a great way to live such lifestyle but of course for a short term. But it is the only way for a lazy bummer like me who prefers a short term commitment kind of jobs.

Biasa, lah tu jadi freelance dive instructor. Have to embrace both good & bad, kan?
Yup, of course lah kan…
